Hello

I’m an enthusiastic relationship-builder and changemaker with more than 20 years in nonprofit and association leadership. I love bringing people together—community leaders, businesses, and all levels of government—to work toward common goals. I’ve guided organizations through tough times and strategic shifts, building strong teams even when resources are tight. Over the past 24 years, I’ve developed well-rounded communications strategies, with a knack for crisis management, branding, and digital outreach. I’ve also secured over $700,000 in grants and funding, boosted economic development, and delivered big, complex projects—especially in business improvement areas. Whether I’m speaking to the media or at public events, I focus on genuine engagement and strategic advocacy to help organizations make a real, lasting difference.

Specialties

I possess specialized knowledge in Business Improvement Areas (BIA) and main streets, with over 12 years of experience in the industry.
I am also skilled in equity, diversity, inclusion. I have been a proactive advocate for gender equity in governance, policy, and board recruitment. I currently serve as Co-Chair of the Policy Committee for the City of Edmonton's Women's Advisory Voice of Edmonton (WAVE).

"We couldn’t have submitted our first grant proposal without Cherie Tellier-Klassen.

Cherie brought an incredible depth of knowledge around city grants and guided us through the process with clarity, focus, and confidence. She helped us shape our direction, refine our offerings, and clearly articulate our impact in a way that felt both strategic and authentic to Velo West Bike School. What could have been overwhelming became structured and achievable thanks to her professionalism and calm, practical approach.

Cherie is highly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and a true pleasure to work with. We highly recommend her to any organization looking for expert guidance and support — she was instrumental in helping us take this important first step."
