Pandemic Leadership & Economic Recovery

Steered organization through COVID-19 crisis and secured $75,000 City of Edmonton matching grant to drive economic recovery strategy. Developed a comprehensive webpage on COVID-19 updates and resources for business members, in addition to a safety guide for operating their business during the pandemic. We took a multi-prong approach to our economic recovery plan combining some placemaking, business recruitment, enhanced member engagement, and conducted extensive market research to better understand our market.

This plan included development of: two summers of expanded sidewalk space with additional seating and patio space; market research to inform our business recruitment package; enhanced member engagement by implementing a new CRM and member welcome package; best practice guide for business members as well as a full page of resources for members during the pandemic with the latest information.
